The Governing Body for the Hampton Primary Partnership is a team of individuals drawn from different sections of our community – Executive leadership Team, staff and parents from both Hampton Infant School and Nursery and Hampton Junior School, local community members and staff from London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames. Governors are the strategic leaders of the school and have overall responsibility for the way a school is run.

Andrea ARBITER: Clerk to the Governing Body

Andrea has been a clerk to a number of governing bodies of Richmond schools over the past ten years, supporting governors in their contributions to school improvement.

She supports the HPP Governing Body, providing administration, guidance and clerking services in such a way as to support strategic development.


Emily BOSWELL: Co-opted Governor


Emily is delighted to have joined HPP as a co-opted governor and member of the School Improvement Committee in Spring 2021. She has over 15 years' experience teaching in state Primary schools, working across EYFS, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two, including working in role as a Deputy DSL. Emily is passionate about children developing a love of learning through meaningful, enriching experiences and ensuring that every child has the chance to succeed. 



Nicola KILLIK: Associate (Parent)


Nicola is an associate governor and chair of the School Improvement Committee. She has 2 children at Hampton Infant School, a daughter in Year 2 and a son in the Nursery.

Nicola is a Private Client lawyer, specialising in Tax,Trust and Charity law, with particular experience in advising boards of trustees.



Jane FALLON: Co-opted Governor (Parent)

Jane has a daughter in year 5 who is thriving in the school’s nurturing and supportive environment.

Jane is delighted to have the opportunity to join the partnership as a co-opted governor and looks forward to contributing to the ongoing success of the schools. Her role as a governor involves safeguarding and health and safety responsibilities across the Hampton Primary Partnership. She is also a member of the School Improvement Committee.

Jane is a freelance professional coach and leadership development specialist, working with a range of organisations to unlock the potential of their employees on talent management and apprenticeship programmes.


Simon TURNER: Co-opted Governor (Parent)

Simon is a co-opted governor with a daughter at Hampton Junior School. He is passionate about encouraging girls into STEM. He works for a large media business and is responsible for its technology operations.

Simon has skills and experience in data protection, information security, business change and service management.





Mary BUXTON: Elected Parent Governor

Mary is the mother of two boys, the eldest of whom is at Hampton Infant School & Nursery.

She was elected as a parent governor in 2019 and she is a member of the Resource Committee, with a particular focus on finance and risk management.

Mary is a management consultant and a chartered public finance accountant



Hirsch CASHDAN: Co-opted Governor

Hirsh has lived in the borough of Richmond for over 30 years and his children were all schooled in the boroughs. Before he retired he was a department manager and then a large projects manager at IBM.  Since retiring he has worked as a volunteer for a variety of organisations, local, national and international.  He is chair of Mondo Foundation which supports schools and livelihoods in India, Nepal and Tanzania and his particular interest is school improvement.


Fiona JOHNSTONE: Co-opted Governor

Fiona has worked for ten years as a teacher in both local state and independent schools and is a Safeguarding Governor across both schools.

Prior to this, she had fifteen years’ experience in human resources, working in a large multi-national company with a focus on change management and leadership coaching. Fiona lives locally and has two children.



Giles MASON: Elected Parent Governor

Giles is Chair of the Resources Committee, with oversight of finance, HR and premises functions.

He has considerable experience of working within the public sector, including roles within Local Authority Education and Youth services.

Giles is an elected parent governor, with a daughter at Hampton Junior School.


Kath MUNDAY: Co-opted Governor

Kath has been a Hampton resident for more than 25 years.

As a retired teacher, she has a great interest in education, particularly in the curriculum and the achievement of all pupils. Her experience as a language teacher and Director of Studies gives her insight into the essential parts played by both the classroom teacher and the leadership team.

Her role on the governing body is Co Vice-Chair.

Gillian de SOYRES: Co-opted Governor

Gillian is serving her fourth year of governance with the Partnership. She spent many years working for a leading environmental charity as a community and education programme manager. She now heads up a small environmental education consultancy helping third sector SMEs to develop financially sustainable business practice; with a focus on outdoor environmental education and wellbeing initiatives.

Gillian is part of the HPP team developing and fundraising for the Oldfield Pavilion.


Lorraine STAPLES: Elected Staff Governor

Lorraine has been working at Hampton Infants since 2016 and currently works in Year One as a Teaching Assistant.

She has worked in education for over 12 years and thoroughly enjoys supporting the children through their school life.

Lorraine is married and has two boys aged 21 and 17, one is studying at university and her youngest son is at college.

In her free time, she enjoys walking and spending time with her family and friends. Her passion is reading and she enjoys time at home relaxing, reading her Kindle!

Sej BHABRA: Co-opted Governor and Chair of Governors

Sej was appointed as a governor in December 2018 and has lived in Hampton since 2010. He has three children; one son who has just 'graduated' from HJS, one son in Year 3 and a three-year old daughter.

He is the Chief Commercial Officer for a management consulting firm which advises large blue chip companies on their emerging markets growth strategies.

Sej is extremely passionate about football, music and loves his technology and gadgets!


Helen LOCKEY: Governor and Executive Head Teacher HPP

Helen is the Executive Head Teacher of Hampton Primary Partnership and has been leading the school since 2013.l.

She is now part of the Executive Leadership team which works across both schools and enjoys working with governors, staff, children and families to deliver our vision of excellence for all across the partnership.



Patrick TIDD: Associate Governor and Head of School (HJS)

Patrick joined HJS as Head of School in January 2021. His previous roles as a senior leader have included seven years as a Deputy Headteacher and he has served on governing bodies in two previous schools, both as associate governor.

As well as the day-to-day running of the Hampton Juniors, Patrick works as part of the Executive Leadership Team to ensure the strategic vision of the school, and partnership, is effective for the staff, community and most importantly the pupils of HPP.



Claire TESTER: Associate Governor and Head Of School (HISN)

Claire joined Hampton Primary Partnership in January 2018 taking up the role as Head of School. Claire manages the school on a day to day basis and drives the passion for learning across the school community. Claire works as part of the Executive leadership team to ensure the strategic vision of the school, and partnership, is effective for the staff, community and most importantly the pupils of HPP.

What do we do as Governors?

We have to promote the highest standards for all the pupils, help to set the overall aims and objectives and monitor the school’s progress towards achieving them. Governors support and challenge the Executive Leadership Team and are often referred to as “critical friends”. We ask difficult questions, seek information and provide constructive criticism. Overall the three key roles for Governors are - setting strategic direction, ensuring accountability and monitoring and evaluating school performance.

We meet as a full governing body five times each year, but most of our work is carried out through our committees. Each of these deals with a specific area of the schools’ organisation, planning and management -

Executive Board

In partnership with the Executive Leadership Team this committee monitors and evaluates schools’ progress towards achieving their aims and objectives.

This committee is tasked with effective financial management of the schools budgets, ensures the schools provide a safe environment for learning and abides by the school’s Health and Safety policy. This committee also approves the staffing complement, structure and recruitment. It keeps under review all policies relating to personnel and staff development.

School Improvement Committee

This committee ensures the schools are providing every learner with the full statutory curriculum and monitors the outcome of targets set. We also ensure the safeguarding of all pupils as well as monitoring the schools’ engagement with pupils, parents and carers and the wider community.
